Finalmente vai ser apresentado o tão esperado livro Eduardo Souto de Moura: Atlas de Parede, Imagens de Método, editado por Pedro Bandeira e André Tavares com textos de Philip Ursprung, Diogo Seixas Lopes, Pedro Bandeira e Eduardo Souto de Moura.
Como é que um arquitecto trabalha? Sabemos que gere um número complexo de solicitações, das exigências peculiares do cliente às limitações geológicas do terreno, passando pelo autoritarismo dos regulamentos e pela subjectividade do mestre-de-obras. O projecto é o lugar onde essa gestão ganha forma documental e a Arquitectura é o saber que permite operar o projecto.
Mas como é que se cartografa esse saber? Como é que ele é composto? Como é que ele se constrói?

“Evolutionary Audiovisual Installation” /December 2-4, 2011

Olga Mesa establishes contact with women from Guimarães
The workshop “Evolutionary Audiovisual Installation” which will run between the 2nd and 4th of December, from 2pm to 7pm, at CAAA, is aimed at women, between 10 and 70 years old, who have practiced some style of dance, as a professional or an amateur, although this is not a criterion for exclusion.
The registrations will be accepted until 28th of November, with a limit of 30 participants, and can be uploaded using the available form.
The workshop is free, although with a deposit of 25 euros, which will be returned at the end of the activity if the participant is in at least 70% of the activity.

“Strings of Thought” /December 20, 2011

Lígia Teixeira presents “Strings of Thought”
After her artistic residency period, in order to develop the “Strings of Thought” performance, Lígia Teixeira displays, on the 20th of December at 22h00, at CAAA, an informal presentation.
The performance will have a technical system, based on cables, which allows an exploration of different qualities of movement, in which the body can be restricted or released according to the intention of the movement and the reaction of the system itself.

Olga Mesa /December 2-4, 2011
Olga Mesa establishes contact with women from Guimarães
Olga Mesa will be in artistic residency at CAAA. The Spanish choreographer wants to establish a first contact with women of different generations, from Guimarães, which demonstrate an interest in experimenting with the notion of body operator and be part of the shooting of the new series 1.2: “Crees que te quería matar?”, which will be presented in February of 2012.

Teatro do Frio /October 2011
Teatro do Frio was at CAAA residence from 2nd October until 31st October de 2011.
This group formation is based on the artistic and human need of privileging research in theatrical activity.
It favours the creation of theatre shows through research methods and devising. The result is the production of original texts in which speech comes as a dramaturgical inevitability, tightly related with body and action. It also privileges the intersection between artists from different currents and practices, in search for a larger plurality of the artistic language

Artistic residencies “Mãos Dadas” /November 5-27, 2011
The result of 15 artistic residencies in 2011 made up the Holding Hands (“Mãos Dadas”) exhibition. The permanent exhibition opens on the 5th of November, at CAAA, 4pm. The performing exhibitions take place at CAAA, on the days 12nd, 19th and 26th of November.
Holding Hands (“Mãos Dadas”) is the second moment of the residencies meeting, included in the culture program of Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture. During 2011, hundreds of people were in their parishes with artists in different performances. In the local and artistic workshops, they made a construction with the common proposal – “Tell us about your place”.

“Cruzadas” preview at CAAA /October 29, 2011
In a co-production with Teatro do Frio and Teatro Nacional São João, Guimarães 2012 is giving tickets for the “Cruzadas” première, result from an artistic residency at the CAAA.
The story of this presentation goes back 900 years, at a time when Western Europe was kindled by a call to Holy War. Thousands of people left their homes across the world to recapture Jerusalem. During four years the Cruzados lived exhaustion, hunger, deadly diseases and bloody battles on the way to the Holy Land.
The event will take place at CAAA, on the 29th of October, at 10 pm.
Tickets can be picked up from 9.30pm, on the 29th of October, at CAAA. The entrance is free and limited to the room capacity.
